第3题
The world is known to us through many senses, not just hearing, smell, vision, and at clos
e range, touch and taste.

Our skins let us know whether the air is moist or dry, whether surfaces are wet without being sticky or slippery. From the uniformity of slight pressure, we can be aware how deeply a finger is thrust into water at body temperature, even if the Anger is enclosed in a rubber glove that keeps the skin completely dry. Many other animals, with highly sensitive skins, appear to be able to learn still more about their environment. Often they do so without employing any of the five senses.

By observing the capabilities of other members of the animal kingdom, we come to realize that a human being has far more possibilities than are utilized. We neglect ever so many of our senses in concentrating on the five major ones. At the same time, a comparison between animals and man draws attention to the limitation of each sense. The part of the spectrum (光谱) seen by colour-conscious man as red is non-existent for honey-bees. But a bee can see far more in flowers than we, because the ultra-violet (紫外线) to which our eyes are blind is a stimulating (刺激的) part of the insect's spectrum, and, for honey-bees at least, constitutes a separate colour.

From the passage we realize that ______.

A.man possesses far more senses than the five major ones

B.man possesses a few more senses than animals

C.man possesses as many senses as animals

D.man has fully utilized his senses

A. FOR MANY STUDENTS

B. A MAJOR BARRIER

C. EQUALITY IN ACCESS TO EDUCATION

D. DIFFERENT PEOPLE

E. NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENTS

The National Union of Students (NUS) welcomes the news that greater numbers of black and disabled students are studying at UK universities, but there is still a lot of work to be done on widening access, writes the union's president, Gemma Tumelty.

A recent Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) equalities review showed that significant numbers of potential students felt their disability was {A; B; C; D; E} to accessing higher education (HE). This is simply unacceptable.

Equality and diversity is not entirely a “numbers game” and before too much praise is given we need to hear more from {A; B; C; D; E} , not just about their experience of accessing higher education but also going through the system.

Equality in society is absolutely, and fundamentally, linked to {A; B; C; D; E}.

{A; B; C; D; E}, university is the place where they will be first exposed to different cultures and {A; B; C; D; E}. As well as fighting for better access, the NUS wants to see diversity properly valued and promoted within the student experience. Many pay lip service to the value of diversity, but is this recognized and promoted as a core asset to those who go through the HE system?

Equality in society can be promoted by equality and diversity at university. But the benefits of university as a positive, diverse environment must be seen by students as adding “value” as much as any other factors before the numbers game is really won by the champions of diversity.

The new 5th generation,5G technology for cellular systems will probably start to come to fruition around 2020. The current status of the 5G technology for cellular systems is very much in the early development stages. Many companies are looking into the technologies that could be used to become part of the system. In addition to this,a number of universities have set up 5G research units focused on developing the technologies for 5G. In addition, the standards bodies, particularly 3GPP are aware of the development but are not actively planing the 5G systems yet. Many of the technologies to be used for 5G will start to appear in the systems used for 4G and then as the new 5G cellular system starts to formulate in a more concrete manner, they will be incorporated into the new 5G cellular system. The major issue with 5G technology is that there is such an enormously wide variation in the requirements:super fast downloads to small data requirements for IoT than any one system will not be able to meet these needs.Accordingly a layer approach is likely to be adopted. As one commentator stated:5G is not just a mobile technology. It is ubiquitous access to high & low data rate services.】 Based on the paragraph above,at present,5G technology for cellular systems (), many of the technologies to be used for 5G () in the systems used for 4G,the major issue facing with 5G technology is ().

Without proper planning, tourism can cause problems. For example, too many tourists can cr
owd public places' that are also enjoyed by the inhabitants of a country. If tourists create too much traffic, the inhabitants become annoyed and unhappy. They begin to dislike tourists and to treat them impolitely. They forget how much tourism can help the country's economy. It is important to think about the people of a destination and how tourism affects them. Tourism should help a country to keep the customs and beauty that attract tourists. Tourism should also advance the well-being of local inhabitants.

Too much tourism can be a problem. If tourism grows too quickly, people must leave other jobs to work in the tourism industry. This means that other parts of the country's economy can suffer.

On the other hand, if there is not enough tourism, people can lose jobs. Businesses can also lose money. It costs a great deal of money to build large hotels, airports, air terminals, first-class roads, and other support facilities needed by tourist attractions. For example, a major international-class tourism hotel can cost as much as 50000 dollars per room to build. If this room is not used most of the time, the owners of the hotel lose money.

Building a hotel is just a beginning. There must be many support facilities as well, including roads to get to the hotel, electricity, sewers to handle waste and water. All of these support facilities cost money. If they are not used because there are not enough tourists, jobs and money are lost.

Which of the following has most probably been discussed in the para. that goes before the para. ? ______.

A.It is extremely important to develop tourism

B.Building roads and hotels are essential

C.Support facilities are highly necessary

D.Planning is of great importance to tourism
